Care:
It is recommended to oil, finish, or seal the wood for long lasting protection against the elements.
Instructions for use:
For best results, install on level ground. Remove grass and other plant growth in the area to be installed, but do not install with the bottom of the box below grade. Install over a layer of high quality weed barrier AND 6 mil plastic sheeting. Poke holes in the plastic to allow water to drain. Leave 1 or 2 inches of barrier visible outside the box to prevent the wood from sitting directly on the ground. It is not recommended to line the inside of the box with plastic. Plastic will help prevent the wood absorbing moisture from the ground, leading to wood decay. The box is designed to hold soil and water, while allowing some moisture and air through. It is normal for water to leak from the seams while watering or during rain. Water leakage will not damage the box or dry the soil out.
